| Higher Education should be an investment by the individual and not the state or fed government. Education (K-12) Money alone doesn't fix all of the problems.Healthcare (SCIP) should be adequately funded as the enrollment requires. More people need to be enrolled to make the program more adequate. Transportation and Highway should be funded and bid on competitively and not soley based on "Prevailing Wages" ideology. Welfare should be kept in check and we should do what we have to but should have guidelines in place to protect everyone in the system so it's being abused. | |||
| We already have a progressive tax structure in this country so the rich pay more than their fair share and to tax them more is not fair and just. In Pa we have a flat tax structure at the state level and this is a fair sysytem of taxing. Taxing Alcohol and Cigarette's isn't going to make people quit as is soda tax isn't going to reduce obesity. Individuals behaviors must change to make those necessary changes in their lives for the better. US Corporate taxes need to be lowered to make us more compt globally | |||

| Living in Philadelphia we need to have second chance legislation for the 200 to 400k philadelphians that have a felony conviction so that they to can secure a job that can provide for them and their families. Coming from a law enforcement background I understand this and I'm a big supporter of providing someone with a second chance to start over. Education is a key reason for crime and poverty in the city and we need school reform and altenative choices for our kids so they can have a chance at life. I support Vouchers and Charters |
